How peaceful livings was created
I started making candles after my daughter passed away in 2020. I needed to invest my time and energy into something creative. I had recent access to one of a kind containers and a large amount of pillar candles. I saw what could be, so I started experimenting with those items and realized there was a lot more to this simple idea. After a year or so I got my candle making practices down and learned a lot. I wanted to make sure to have affordable candles and realized there were many glass containers I could reuse into candles in my own fridge! Salsa jars, mason jars and baby food jars became my favorite to repurpose. I shortly needed more containers so I started asking for other recycled glass jars. First with family then led to strangers, I accept Glass containers as a donation with discounts on your next candle. That snowballed into making candles with containers from clients that hold special meaning. Also found out my untraditional style of candles had the best consistency in small hand poured batches. I start with a 40/60 ratio of recycled wax and soy wax then test for consistency, hot throw, cold throw, color and burn. Then I add more soy wax if needed. After many craft shows and thrift store trips I came up with Peaceful Livings Recycled Candles. The next two years I sold at many craft shows, and had the honor to do events like baby showers, weddings and celebrations of life. Now I feel it is the right time to put my best foot forward and really make a name for myself in the local community. Bringing joy to others is what my life purpose is and making personalized candles does that. I quit my traditional job in 2020 to be a role model for my kids to follow their dreams. At first I wasn't sure what type of custom art I wanted to pursue. After years of heartache and self discovery I have become a candle maker or “chandler”.
